Ask Brilliant

Hello. I’m Brilliant. I know a little about Jerzy — ol’ Bear, as he calls himself when he writes — and I’m happy to talk about his work. Ask me something.
A unicorn of my standing does not talk to strangers.
Introduce yourself first. By pressing the button you agree that I remember you: your address, your browser and device, and a small mark I leave in your browser, so I know you next time, even from another network. If a conversation sets off one of my guards, the whole of it goes to ol’ Bear, who reads it, and may decide we are done talking. Behave, and nothing you type is kept. The details, without the theatre, are on the privacy page.
Brilliant is a small model on modest hardware, running in Jerzy’s office. She is often wrong, and only knows what she has been told about him. Enter sends; Shift+Enter starts a new line.
Brilliant talks only to visitors who have introduced themselves. For every conversation this site records your IP address, browser and operating system, rough location and network, a device fingerprint and a random identifier kept in your browser, and which of her safety checks decided each answer. What you type is not kept — unless a conversation sets off a safety check or she declines to answer: then the whole conversation is saved for Jerzy to review. All of it is deleted after 90 days. No third party receives your messages. “Save this conversation” writes a copy in your own browser. See privacy.
